Fearne Cotton reveals she has been coping with ‘very suppressed anger’ and is ‘now nervousness free’ simply weeks after saying shock break up from husband-Jesse Wood

Fearne Cotton has revealed that she has been ‘getting in touch with some very suppressed anger’ just weeks after announcing her split from husband Jesse Wood.

The broadcaster, 43, shocked fans earlier this month when she shared the news that she had split with her husband of 10 years.

Now she has taken to her podcast Happy Place to explain how she has been feeling since her separation from Ronnie Wood‘s son Jesse, 48.

She said: ‘Luckily I’ve been feeling pretty anxiety free recently. One reason is I am going to therapy every week and not ditching out of it like I used to all the time.

‘But also getting in touch with some very suppressed anger, that might seem abstract, but getting in touch with some very suppressed anger has really helped dull my anxiety.’

Fearne also said that while she had been a ‘happy little hermit’ earlier in the year, happy to spend nights at home with her blended family at their six-bedroom Victorian property in Richmond, Surrey.

But the mother-of two says she has changed and wants to go on a wild night out.

She said: ‘I’m actually feeling naturally like I want to go out more and socialise, and have fun, and be a bit hungover. So I’m in a new little era. My kids are getting a bit older. Fun Fearne is back!’

Fearne shares son Rex, 11, and daughter Honey, eight, with Jesse, 48, and she is also stepmother to his children Arthur, 22, and Lola, 18, from his first marriage to model and producer Tilly Wood.

The former Radio 1 presenter also reflected on an interview she did with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, 31.

Now Fearne wants to meet up for a drink with the pop star to discuss her ‘private’ feelings.

She said: ‘There are things, for me even, that aren’t for the mic and are private but really bring you true connection. So without sounding too desperados I want to have a margs with Perrie.

‘I know what I am like after a few margaritas and you do get a bit loosey goosy. You say the stuff that you are too scared to say normally.

‘I am not necessarily encouraging us all to get pissed to share our true inner feelings but it does sometimes help.’

The news of her divorce came just days after she disclosed a health scare, revealing she had discovered two tumours on her jawline.

In the statement revealing the split, Fearne told fans that their priority was their children.

She posted on Instagram: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been and always will be our children.

‘We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.’

Fearne reportedly feared for her marriage for some time before announcing the couple’s split.

It has emerged that the couple had faced challenges for several years, with Fearne previously admitting that their marriage had been ‘suffering’ as far back as 2019.

Speaking at the time, Fearne said Jesse’s demanding schedule with his band Reef had put a strain on their relationship which left them desperately ‘clinging onto their marriage’ in an unearthed interview.

The pair’s problems eventually came to a head with a two-hour ‘screaming match’ where they worried their ‘love had gone’.

Jesse, who is the son of Rolling Stone rocker Ronnie Wood and model Krissy Findlay, is yet to speak out on their split.

The couple, who tied the knot in a small London ceremony in 2014, celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in July.

The pair met in 2011 while in Ibiza. Fearne previously said their first date consisted of vodka and cigarettes. But Jesse stopped drinking and both have been vegan since 2021.
