Gwyneth Paltrow cryptically posts about ditching individuals who had been ‘not proper for me’
Gwyneth Paltrow shared an ambiguous message about letting go of ‘people who were not right for me’ on Sunday.
As the 52-year-old Goop founder took inventory of her year, she told her 8.7 million Instagram followers what she’s discarded in the past 12 months.
Her carousel post began with a clip of the blonde siren strutting outdoors in a navy blue mini dress.
Written across the snippet was the title, ‘This year I have let go of…’ in large white font. First she shared a snapshot with daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18, while sharing that she’s passed ‘the phase of life where everyone is always under one roof.’
Also listed under the ‘letting go’ umbrella were ‘our home,’ ‘some very cherished colleagues,’ ‘a dog,’ and ‘Los Angeles.’
Over a seconds-long clip of the sky and clouds Paltrow wrote that she has also let go of ‘some people who were not right for me’ without adding additional context.

Gwyneth also said goodbye to ‘the idea that [she] can correct misconceptions.’
And she added that she is ‘still working on’ eliminating ‘self-limiting beliefs’ as 2024 comes to a close.
The mother-of-two also made a list of what she wants her forthcoming year to look like as she included a second roundup titled ‘In 2025 I would like to…’
Among her goals is to ‘index freedom and expansion,’ ‘feet better,’ ‘crush it at work,’ and ‘continue to be able to have the tough conversations.’
After listing her hopes to keep succeeding in her job, the Iron Man actress noted about her wellness brand, ‘2024 was our best year ever, and so much more to come.’
This comes despite the company suffering its second round of layoffs in late October.
The recent Goop cuts accounted for about 10 people, which equated to less than six percent of staff across several divisions, including beauty, programming, engineering, and creative.
In September, nearly 40 people were axed from the 216-person staff, accounting for 18% of the e-commerce site.
Nevertheless, the Oscar winner’s high hopes for the year ahead continued as she listed her ongoing plan to ‘continuously reassess everything.’

And she added that next year she wants to ‘look at things in a new way’ by being ‘aware’ of her biases.
Lastly, the star said she wants to ‘surprise herself,’ which was typed over a photo of her smiling while holding what looked like an Aperol Spritz drink.
For her caption, Gwyneth shared an excerpt from Sunday’s Goop newsletter.
It read, ‘My friend got me a numerology reading, and I learned I’m in a nine year, which is year of completions and endings.’
The statement continued, ‘I had a few very strong lessons around completing certain things. I had a bunch of goodbyes this year; I had some revelations that led to the ends of things.’

On Christmas Day, Gwyneth shared a candlelit snapshot with only half her and daughter Apple’s faces in focus as she wrote, ‘A very merry Christmas to all,’ on Instagram
The nebulous note went on, ‘The numerologist contextualized all of this for me, but this year was about learning to understand that it was a year of endings.
‘And that sometimes those endings have been really painful and have come with big change and recalibrations.’
She added, ‘I’ve learned to loosen my grip on things and deeply learn to let go. And also to understand that everything is always happening for your highest good, even if it’s super uncomfortable.’
Goop joined in the commented to leave a string of red heart emoji.
