Jennifer Aniston’s final phrases to Angelina Jolie resurface amid Brad Pitt divorce settlement

Jennifer Aniston‘s last words to Angelina Jolie have resurfaced amid the Oscar winner finally signing her divorce papers on Christmas Day – ending her two-year marriage and eight-year legal battle against Brad Pitt.

The 55-year-old Emmy winner’s first and only encounter with Angelina occurred in 2004 on the Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, CA where she was filming her hit NBC sitcom Friends.

‘I pulled over and introduced myself,’ Jennifer recalled in her 2005 Vanity Fair cover story.

‘I said, “Brad is so excited about working with you. I hope you guys have a really good time!”‘

Aniston’s 61-year-old husband began shooting Doug Liman’s spy comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith in August 2004 and he quickly fell in love with his onscreen leading lady Jolie, despite both of them insisting they did not have sex.

The LA-born, NY-raised blonde ‘chose to believe’ Brad that the end of their four-and-a-half-year marriage was not because of another woman, and they jointly announced their legal separation on January 7, 2005.

Three months later, the 49-year-old Maria actress alerted a photographer when and where she and Pitt would be strolling on Kenya’s Diani Beach with her son Maddox, which then Us Weekly owner Jann Wenner confirmed in his 2022 memoir Like a Rolling Stone.

‘We got the photo, we got the proof,’ Wenner wrote in his book.

‘We had the worldwide scoop, the debut of “Brangelina.” The tipster was Angelina.’

Recalling the moment she saw her estranged husband with his mistress, Jennifer said: ‘The world was shocked, and I was shocked.’

‘I can’t say it was one of the highlights of my year,’ Aniston continued.

‘Who would deal with that and say, “Isn’t that sweet! That looks like fun!”? But s*** happens. You joke and say, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”‘

Six months after the separation, Brad and Angelina played house with a big brood of faux children for a 60-photo, W Magazine cover spread, which he conceptualized and retained the international rights for so he could profit off it.

‘I didn’t know that,’ the Out of My Mind actress admitted at the time.

‘There’s a sensitivity chip that’s missing.’

Jennifer ‘always wanted to have children’ so when the Vanity Fair reporter revealed that Jolie was rumored to be pregnant at the time – which was true – she broke down in tears and could not respond.

By the time Aniston and Pitt finalized their divorce in October 2005, Angelina was two months pregnant with their daughter Shiloh and the couple were in the process of adopting more children.

The Echo Films co-founder predicted she would be ‘married to an amazing man and have a kid’ by 2010, which did not come to pass but she was married to her Wanderlust co-star Justin Theroux between 2015-2017.

Jennifer said she’d love the two-time Oscar winner ‘for the rest of my life’ and they did share a warm exchange backstage at the 2020 SAG Awards.

On the career front, Aniston reportedly earns $2M per episode executive producing and starring as UBA co-host Alex Levy in Apple TV+ newsroom drama The Morning Show, and she just wrapped filming the fourth season on December 5.

Brad and Angelina  share children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 16. 

They were declared legally single in 2019 but have battled over custody and legal issues over their French estate and winery, Château Miraval, since the split. 

Brad is now romancing Ines de Ramon, 34, and the pair have been together for two years. 

Jolie’s lawyer has said that his client has been left ‘exhausted’ by the eight-year fight – but her former partner has been left equally weary because he believes she has been ‘dragging her feet’.

The Hollywood stars officially signed off on their divorce paperwork on Monday in a wrangle that began in 2016.

Despite the grief of becoming estranged from at least three of their six children, Brad has found love with Los Angeles jewelry designer Ramon who may even be planning to have a family herself.

A Hollywood insider with links to Team Pitt told MailOnline today: ‘They are looking to get married in the next year and Brad has settled because he wants to keep his children on side for his new marriage to go ahead.  

‘Apparently Ines is keen to have children too and pressured him to get it all sorted out as soon as possible’.

Brad and Ines began dating almost two years ago and later moved in together. He is said to have introduced her to his close circle, which includes best friend George Clooney.

‘Brad will be relieved that he can finally move on and marry again. He has wanted his divorce settled long before now but he believes Angelina has been dragging her feet’, another LA insider told MailOnline.

‘Angelina will argue she has been fighting for the best deal for their family, but whatever the truth, it ultimately clears the path for him walking down the aisle with Ines’.

The source added: ‘He will hope that he can build bridges with his children now that the divorce is finalised, but that looks like a long hard road’. 

Ines is said to have made it crystal clear to her friends, family, and work contacts that her relationship with Brad is now so serious that it is off-limits for discussion.

The entrepreneur even required her business contacts who work with her in the jewelry world to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure that no details about her personal life are leaked to the press.

Ines reportedly takes these precautions to avoid giving the actor any impression that she’s using their relationship to gain fame – and reassure him about how seriously she takes their privacy.

Brad and Ines live together in LA-area, but the exact location is said to be closely guarded.

Last month a source made it crystal clear that he is serious about her – and marrying again when the divorce from Angelina goes through.

‘Brad is interested in getting married again, and it is all thanks to Ines’, the insider declared to DailyMail.com.

‘He is so comfortable with her that it just feels right with her, and he would be more than okay to make it official.’

The source noted that Ines has the seal of approval from Brad’s close circle.
