Biden lastly addresses the nation on New Orleans terror assault that slaughtered 15 individuals and divulges killer’s surprising social media movies
President Joe Biden finally addressed the New Orleans New Year’s Day terror attack Wednesday night from Camp David.
Biden reiterated that the alleged killer was a Texas-born American who served in the armed forces and was inspired by ISIS to mow down and kill at least 15 victims in the early hours of 2025 on the city’s famed Bourbon Street.
He advised that ‘no one should jump to conclusions.’
Earlier President-elect Donald Trump had suggested the perpetrator was an illegal migrant.
The now deceased subject has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen.
‘The FBI also reported to me that mere hours before he attacked he posted videos on social media indicating that he was inspired by ISIS – especially the desire to kill, the desire to kill,’ Biden said. ‘The ISIS flag was found in his vehicle, which he rented to conduct this attack.’
The president called the situation ‘very fluid’ and said he was being updated on the Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside President-elect Donald Trump‘s Las Vegas hotel as well.
‘Including whether there’s any possible connection with the attack in New Orleans,’ Biden said. ‘Thus far, there’s nothing to report on that score at this time.’

Both vehicles were rented out on Turo, a car-sharing app, but beyond that there doesn’t appear to be a connection.
The president gave just brief remarks and walked off ignoring shouted questions including whether he had been in touch with Trump, who will be sworn back in as president in just 20 days.
At one point he appeared to have teleprompter hiccup – saying ‘there you go’ once it was fixed, after looking down at his notes during an awkward silence.
Biden started off his Camp David appearance by consoling those in mourning.
‘Our nation grieves with you. We’re going to stand with you as you mourn and as you heal in the weeks to come,’ the president said.
Biden thanked the first responders who rushed to Bourbon Street and law enforcement who shot Jabbar dead in his tracks.
The president said that Jabbar served on active duty in the United States Army and then was a reservist until a few years ago.
He said explosives were found in the Jabbar’s vehicle and more were found in the surrounding area.

‘The law enforcement, intelligence community will continue to look for any connections, association or co-conspirators,’ Biden said. ‘We have noting additional to report at this time, the investigation is continuing to be active and no one should jump to conclusions.’
He rounded out his appearance, which lasted less than five minutes, to talk about the global love affair with the city of New Orleans, which he pronounced with a southern drawl several times during his remarks.
‘New Orleans is a place unlike any other place in the world, a city full of charm and joy. So many people around the world love the New Orleans because of its history, its culture and above all its people,’ Biden said. ‘The spirit of New Orleans will never, never, never be defeated.’
The Sugar Bowl, which was to take place between Georgia and Notre Dame at the Superdome on New Year’s Day, has been postponed in the wake of the attack.
New Orleans is accustomed to hosting largescale events including Mardi Gras and the annual New Orleans Jazz Festival.
The city will also host the Super Bowl this year.
