New M&S chocolate ‘appears to be like prefer it must be bought in Ann Summers’
Shoppers couldn’t unsee the ‘cheeky’ way Marks and Spencer were suggesting you celebrate this Valentine’s Day with a loved one
Christmas has only just passed, but shops are already gearing up for the next major holiday – Valentine’s Day. M&S customers spotted some suspicious-looking items meant to help celebrate the upcoming national event.
The limited-time range included lots of posh chocolates, but one caught a few shoppers off guard. In the Facebook group Snack Reviews, one person found the ‘Love Struck’ item, described on the box as a solid milk chocolate version of Cupid’s arrow.
However, people were left baffled by the arrow-shaped chocolate. One shopper joked: “Are they cream filled?” Another said: “The heart looks kind of like a… you know!” A third asked: “Is it only me, or do these look like they should be sold in Ann Summers?”
Someone else suggested: “M&S exactly knew what they was doing with this!” A fifth person wrote: “That’s no cross and arrow! We all know what it really is!” One more person tickled by the whole thing said: “Can’t wait to see Aldi version!”
The 2025 Valentine’s Day range is available to view on the M&S website. Most items are also starting to appear in stores alongside treats for Easter.
Eager shoppers can grab chocolate-coated berries and a biscuit-making kit. There’s also the very swish-looking Spencer Bear – who’s hollow inside but decorated with dark chocolate and a red heart bearing his initials.
There’s also Marks and Spencer’s Appealing Banana, a milk chocolate-shaped banana with creamy butterscotch filling. The flavour choice confused some people, as one pointed out: “Come on M&S, why not make it banana flavoured? It’s right there!”
A Marks and Spencer spokesperson said: “This Valentine’s we’ve got a great range of gifts for all, from exquisite and luxurious to a bit of fun (yes, the puns are deliberate!). Whatever the product, we lead on quality because when we say this is not just food, this is M&S Food, we really mean it.”
