Two minutes of terror: Horrifying sequence of movies present ISIS fanatic Shamsud-Din Jabbar’s bloodthirsty truck assault from begin to end

A horrifying series of videos show ISIS fanatic Shamsud-Din Jabbar’s bloodthirsty New Orleans terror attack from start to finish.

Jabbar, 42, was gunned down by police two minutes after he steered his speeding pickup truck around a police barricade on the city’s famed Bourbon Street and intentionally plowed into a crowd of New Year’s Day revelers.

The attack killed 14 revelers, along with Jabbar, who was fatally shot in a firefight with police after the rampage. About 30 people were injured.

Jabbar, an US Army veteran who once served in Afghanistan, posted five videos on his Facebook account in the hours before the attack in which he proclaimed his support for the Islamic State group and previewed the violence that he would soon unleash in the famed French Quarter district.

Surveillance footage also revealed that Jabbar placed two improvised explosive devices in coolers at intersections around Bourbon Street a few hours before the attack. They were both rendered safe at the scene.

The FBI has labeled the deadly New Year’s Day attack, carried out solely by the Texas native, as an act of terrorism.

As a portrait begins to emerge about Jabbar and his possible motives, footage captured along Bourbon Street during the two minutes of terror lays out a timeline of what was the deadliest ISIS-inspired assault on US soil in years.

He then turns sharply around a parked police cruiser that was acting as a barrier and barrels down Bourbon Street to begin his deadly rampage.

Jabbar sped down the street and rammed straight into a large crowd, mowing down dozens of pedestrians.

Investigators say he was wearing body armor and firing an AR-style rifle out of the truck as he raced down the road.

He travelled about three blocks before crashing into a crane near the intersection of Bienville and Conti streets.

3.17am CST: A split second after the crash, Jabbar exited the vehicle and fired off shots, wounding two police officers.

The FBI has continued to hunt for clues about Jabbar but, a day into its investigation, the agency said it was confident he was not aided by anyone else in the attack.

Investigators are probing the theory he rented a nearby property on Airbnb in St. Roch for his base before carrying out the attack.

Exclusive DailyMail.com photographs show the moment the FBI removed bomb making materials from the two-bedroom and two-bathroom property close to the French Quarter.

A total containment vessel was seen being taken away from the property at around 8pm on New Years Day, hours after authorities had evacuated residents from the area.

Police have shared two new images of him in a brown overcoat at 2.03am CST as he walked on Dauphine Street.

Underneath the coat, he has a dark-colored button shirt, blue jeans and dress shoes.

Detectives hope the new photos will jig the memories of people who were in the area, and they’re asking anyone with information to come forward.

FBI Deputy Assistant Director Christopher Raia told a press conference on Thursday that the attack ‘was premeditated and an evil act,’ reaffirming the bureau’s conclusion that Jabbar was inspired by Islamic State.

Investigators also were trying to understand more about Jabbar’s path to radicalization, which they say culminated with him picking up a rented truck in Houston on December 30 and driving it to New Orleans the following night.

The FBI recovered a black ISIS flag from Jabbar’s rented pickup truck and reviewed five videos posted to Facebook.

In one video, Jabbar said he originally planned to harm his family and friends, but was concerned news headlines would not focus on the ‘war between the believers and the disbelievers’.

He also stated he joined ISIS before last summer and provided a last will and testament, the FBI said.

The FBI said Thursday it is still uncertain how Jabbar transformed from military veteran, real-estate agent and one-time employee of the major tax and consulting firm Deloitte into someone who was ‘100 percent inspired by ISIS’.

A US government official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to speak publicly, said Jabbar traveled to Egypt in 2023.

He stayed in Cairo for a week, before returning to the US and then traveling to Toronto for three days. It was not immediately clear what he did during those travels.
