Ukrainian mom describes how Russians stripped her bare, had 15 males rape her, and solely stopped torturing her as soon as she ‘screamed loud sufficient’ – and chilling risk they made to her daughter, 5

A  brave Ukrainian mother has told how Russian militants stripped her naked and had 15 men rape her before making a chilling threat on her little daughter’s life.

Natalia Vlasova, born in 1981, was savagely tortured and sexually assaulted by the Russians after being seized in Donbas back in 2018, before Russia‘s invasion of Ukraine.

In a harrowing description of the ordeal she endured while jailed, Vlasova told Human Rights in Ukraine how her teeth were filed down by Vasyl Yevdokimov – a key figure in Russia’s Izolyatsia secret torture prison.

She claimed Yevdokimov, also known as Lenin, electrocuted her by sending currents through her body and that the cruel militants would not end their abuse until she screamed ‘loud enough’ to satisfy them.

The mother described her assailants as maniacs, saying that not every person would ‘be capable of taking pleasure from causing pain to a naked and bound woman, and of committing all kinds of other perversions.

‘Yevdokimov himself filed down my teeth with a nail file, twisted my nipples and tried to push a bottle into my vagina. I would remind you that this is the person who is your victim,’ she added in her distressing statement.

But the abuse did not stop there, with imprisoned Vlasova recalling her torturers bounding her limbs with scotch tape and pouring water over her.

‘If I didn’t scream enough, they increased the current and the shocks became even more intense,’ she said.

‘They needed a reaction. I didn’t understand that straight away, then when I screamed loud enough, I heard their satisfied voices.’

After the horror torture session was over, the prisoner was tied again, this time with her hands raised and forced into a tiny enclosed space where she had to stand all night.

Or, she would be sent to a small room in the basement which was so cramped, an individual could only stand or sit in there.

According to Vlasova, the nights were desperately cold and she was only left with a small amount of water.

The Ukrainian was also systematically raped and recounted incidents where up to 15 men had abused her in this way at one time.

And as if their torture of her were not enough, they then began threatening the life of her young daughter.

The Russian-controlled militants claimed to know where her five-year-old daughter, Yulia, went to kindergarten and threatened to send her a toy containing a bomb to kill her.

Izolyatsia.ui claims that up until 2017 there were no toilets in the Izolyatsia’s basement cells, and the prisoners were only allowed to use the toilet once a day for a few minutes.

The website on the prison also says that in the early years of Izolyatsia, ‘the Russia-backed illegal armed formations tortured the prisoners and broadcasted images on a screen with the audio set to full volume to intimidate the other detainees.

‘Later they began to torture prisoners directly on the floor with the main cells. Furthermore, almost all prisoners undergo torture, even those who have earlier confessed to “crimes” already’.

Vlasova, along with Ukrainian Serhiy Hruzynov and Victor Shydlovsky, were all handed 18 to 22 year prison sentences in 2018 by Russia’s Southern District Military Court.

The trio were tried under Russia’s ‘terrorism’ allegation after they came into possession of a videoed ‘confession’ that the Ukrainians had planned to kill Vasyl Yevdokimov.

But the confessions were all retracted as they had been extracted through methods of torture.

Hruzynov had been imprisoned since December 2018, Vlasova and Shydlovsky since March 2019 and all parties denied any involvement in plans to kill anybody.

Shydlovsky and Vlasova admitted only to the charge of using fake documents.

On 24 December 2024, Judge Oleg Aleksandrovich Cherepov of the Southern District Military Court sentenced Hruzynov to 20 years and Victor Shydlovsky to 22 years, with both in a maximum-security prison colony.

Vlasova was sentenced to 18 years’ in a medium-security prison colony.
