Gemma Collins is on a mission to land a role on Coronation Street. The reality star is a massive fan of the show so it would be a dream come true to join the soap.

And she’s already pals with one of the cast. She told me: “It would be amazing to be on a soap one day. I’d love to be in Corrie. I recently met Claire Sweeney and I think she’s hilarious, so I could go on the cobbles with her.”

Gemma is keen to get a role that’s a world away from her real life. The former car saleswoman wants to surprise people with a hard-hitting performance.

She said: “I’d like to play a character that’s memorable. I want to play someone people wouldn’t expect… a character who’s very different to what people think I’d be.

“Maybe I could be someone who is sleeping rough on the streets… someone who is covered in cuts and bruises.”

A host of big names have had cameo roles on Corrie in the past including Peter Kay, Lorraine Kelly and Paddy McGuinness.

Corrie isn’t the only soap the TOWIE icon has her eyes set on, as she would “never say never” to an EastEnders role.

Promising to give the BBC cast a “run for their money”, the reality TV legend, who recently earned £1,000-per-second with one job, told Daily Star that she wouldn’t rule out a stint on Albert Square.

“If the right role came along, I’d absolutely consider it. I love bringing a bit of glamour and fun wherever I go. So, who knows? Maybe one day I’ll be strutting down Albert Square, giving everyone a run for their money.”

When speaking about past and present TV opportunities, she added: “Let’s just say I’m quite selective these days. I’ve learned to trust my gut. If something doesn’t feel right, I’ll pass. Life’s too short to say yes to things that don’t light you up. No major regrets though – every experience has taught me something.”
