Munchausen-by-proxy victim and convicted murderer Gypsy-Rose Blanchard showed off her post-baby bod just days after giving birth to her first child – born exactly a year on from her release from jail
Convicted murderer Gypsy-Rose Blanchard flaunted her postpartum body just days after giving birth to her first child.
The 33-year-old served eight years after she was found guilty of the second degree murder of her abusive mum Claudine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard, after a childhood filled with tourture.
Gypsy-Rose shared a snap of herself wearing a cream vest top that showed off her toned body on her Instagram stories. She captioned the pic with: “Almost a week postpartum. Feeling more energised.” The new mum looked understated and fresh-faced in the picture, with her hair casually tied back into a ponytail, and and minimal make up.
Gypsy-Rose, a Munchausen-by-proxy victim, and partner Ken Urker, 31, named their daughter Aurora, who was born on December 28. The couple announced the little girl’s arrival days after her birth by sharing a photo of the family in hospital on January 1.
The besotted dad captioned the snap, which showed Gypsy-Rose in bed while cradling the infant with dad leaning over, with: “Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all.”
Ken told TMZ: “Aurora is healthy and we are so happy.”
The ex-con welcomed in motherhood a year to the day from her release from jail. Gypsy-Rose was released from jail on December 28, 2023, after spending eight years in the slammer for killing her abusive mum, MailIOnline reports.
Gypsy-Rose spent her childhood pretending to be wheelchair bound, and suffering from leukaemia and muscular dystrophy, after her mum shaved her head and and loaded her up with drugs.
The mother and daughter’s “inseparable” bond when Gypsy-Rose broke free from her mum’s control in 2015, and let her internet boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn sneak into their home in Springfield Missouri to stab Dee Dee, 48, to death.
After spending almost a decade in prison, Gypsy-Rose was released on bail. She met Ken while doing time, with the pair bonding after he sent her a letter. He proposed in 2018.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing however, as Ken struggled to deal with the sudden attention. The pair split, and Gypsy-Rose married Ryan Scott Anderson in July 202, just to break up three months after she was released from prison. Gypsy-Rose rekindled her romance with Ken soon after. Anderson was forced to undergo a paternity test so his name wasn’t on Aurora’s birth certificate, because the pair were still legally married.
Previously, Gypsy-Rose spoke about the impact her horrific childhood would affect her being a mum. She said: “All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby.
“I just want to be a good mother to my child, I want to be everything my mother wasn’t.”
