Liverpool fans have joked that Manchester United’s wing wizard Amad Diallo has been their best defender on Sunday after he managed to clear a glorious chance for the Red Devils

Manchester United made the short trip to Merseyside on Sunday, despite the heavy snowfall, and they came close to breaking the deadlock when Diogo Dalot found some space down the left wing. Dalot picked up his head and saw an onrushing Amad.

Andy Robertson had been left in the dust as Dalot attempted to pick out Dalot, who, with the goal gaping, managed to head the ball backwards and out of danger. “Incredible defensive header by Amad,” one Liverpool fan joked.

“Amad with the classic play injured when you’ve ruined a great chance,” a second said. While a third shared: “Incredible clearance by Amad Diallo. Liverpool were in big trouble there!”

And another added: “Amad has been our best defender today!”
