Luke Littler already eyeing up darts match debut with telling three-word remark
Luke Littler is all but certain to make his PDC World Cup of Darts debut in 2025, with the teenage sensation set to partner Luke Humphries on the big stage
New world champion Luke Littler is set to represent England at the 2025 PDC World Cup of Darts, teaming up with Ally Pally rival Luke Humphries.
The Nuke’s trophy cabinet is already buckling under the weight of a world title, Premier League glory and a Grand Slam title, elevating him to No. 2 in the PDC rankings.
Yet, despite the fact the teenage prodigy is on a mission to snatch that top spot from Cool Hand, come June Littler is highly likely to join forces with Humphries at the World Cup of Darts – where the top two players from each country on the PDC Order of Merit are selected to represent their nations.
Racking up more than £1m in ranking money over the past two seasons, The Nuke’s total is essentially insurmountable even for his nearest English rival, Rob Cross, who is more than £500,000 behind.
Littler and Humphries then look set to jet off to Frankfurt and attempt to retain England’s crown, secured for a record-breaking fifth time by Cool Hand and Michael Smith last year.

“I cannot wait,” Littler stated when asked about the tournament. “Last year, people didn’t know it was based on your ranking, and everyone was asking: ‘Why is Luke Littler not in the World Cup? I was like: ‘Because I’ve only just started my career.’
“But now, obviously, the major ranking money goes on to the rankings, and I think I’m pretty much in with Luke,” confessed the 17-year-old from Warrington.
Prior to an unexpected tumble out of the top-16 for Smith – following a shock loss at Ally Pally to Kevin Doets – the Bully Boy joined forces with Humphries in 2024 to navigate past France, Northern Ireland, and Scotland, arriving at a final showdown against Austria, reports the Express.
With a blistering average of over 100, the duo snagged the title – England’s first since Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis vanquished Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld back in 2016.
England are set to take the top seed slot for the 2025 contest – where seedings hinge on the two players’ average ranking – and The Nuke is already eyeing up the opportunity to strap another victory to his fast-expanding belt.
