A paramedic who died for more than 11 minutes has revealed his near-death experience was “a state of absolute tranquil”. Adam Tapp, a paramedic from London in Ontario, Canada, recently revealed details about a near-death experience he had in 2018 – after an etching device pierced his skin and electrocuted him to death for over 11 minutes.

Adam now hosts the podcast Tapped into Psychedelics and has spoken about the experience extensively. Adam described his fatal electrocution as “almost overwhelming it was like this intense, intense level of absolute pain, like every single cell in my body was being pulled into pieces”.

After the fatal electrocution he noted: “I wasn’t Adam. I wasn’t dead. I wasn’t anything. I was just perfect, like absolute contentment.”

He added that there “was no sense of consistency with anything” and that he was “simply existing with awareness”. He revealed: “And then I felt sort of this frequency started washing over me, it was like this fractal patterns. And it was like gasoline on water, this rainbow effect.

“It was basically becoming the fabric of the universe. And it was absolutely perfect. Like there was no fear.”

While his experience continued, Tapp said he felt like he was being electrocuted again. However, this time it was paramedics trying to revive him from the dead.

After the electrocution feeling passed Adam said he became aware of what was happening and recalled the smell of burnt skin.

Adam was in a coma for about eight hours and woke up in an intensive care unit. He noted that after coming out of the coma his perception of time had become warped and wasn’t aware for how long he had been out for.

“Like if someone had told me how long it had been five years or a decade, I would have been completely on point with that,” he recalled.

After being released from the hospital Adam became “hyper aware” about himself like his “natural pheromonal smell” and “the texture of my skin”.

After the incident Adam began to show an interest in psychedelics. He noted that his personality had changed and he had become more in tune with enjoying each moment “as opposed to applying meaning to everything”.

“Being dead was easy. It was perfect, it was beautiful. You know, it’s being alive that’s difficult and hard,” he said.
