UFO-shaped flying autos may very well be way forward for Uber – jetting folks at 250mph
The fully autonomous ‘Invo Moon’ offers up to three passengers a 360-degree panorama above and below as it travels at speeds of up to 250mph. And it could be in the UK by 2028
A UFO-shaped electric flying vehicle that can reach speeds of up to 250mph could be the future of Uber.
And what’s more this isn’t some far flung dream that will only come into fruition in 100 years, there’s talk of these modes of transport being up and running within the decade. No need to check to see if this is an April Fool’s joke, the information comes directly from former Tesla engineer Leo Kayali who spoke to the Daily Mail about the vision for his invention.
The news comes as a woman claims she has “messages from alien leaders” at the “Galactic Federation”. It also follows Robbie Williams being asked to become the UK’s UFO figurehead.
The “Invo Moon”, fully self-driving and offering a trio of passengers an unbroken 360-degree view both above and below.
Designed with stealth in mind, it promises a quiet journey, thanks to its internal flight mechanics, a stark contrast to the racket from the exposed propellers of its rivals.
Priced at a somewhat affordable £280,000, this craft can glide in any direction, much like a drone.
Mr Kayali told the Daily Mail the design was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Armoured Car” drawings from more than five centuries ago.
His goal is to have the vehicle green lit by the US aviation authority by 2027 and to have it soring in the skies in “all major cities including London” by the end of the decade.
He even teased that future owners could double it as an Uber when not in use, quipping they could “make money while sitting at home”.
The government last year announced it expected flying taxis to be “routinely” whizzing around British skies by 2028 – and potentially operating without a pilot by 2030.
The Invo Moon can be pre-ordered for £2,000, then you just pay the outstanding £278,000 on delivery.
And Mr Kayali believes the cost of the vehicles could be mass produced cheaply, and come right down to costing below £50,000 in the future.
Bucking the trend of conventional electric flying craft with their exposed propellers, the Invo Moon keeps its mechanics neatly tucked within an aluminium shell.

The vehicle uses a complex new aerodynamic design in which a dozen motors, all containing spinning spheres, are positioned in a circle around the side of the vehicle.
Using these motors in groups of four at a time, it can move in any direction 360 degrees, meaning it has no front or back. To land, it extends three retractable legs.
Venture inside and you’ll find a trio of rotating seats that fully recline and heat up for a comfortably panoramic experience, courtesy of plexiglass views above and below.
Promising more than just a ride, this “luxury” contraption comes equipped with ambient lighting, a built-in ice machine, and savvy TVs for its passengers.
On the practicality front, Mr Kayali asserts it boasts an impressive 300-mile range capacity, with battery recharge times from 20% to 80% taking a brisk 30 minutes max.
