Boy, 14, stabbed to demise on London bus as knifeman flees scene
A 14-year-old boy has been stabbed to death on a bus in London this afternoon with emergency services scrambled to the scene and the knifeman still on the run
A 14 year old boy has been fatally stabbed on a London bus. Emergency services rushed to a street in Woolwich after receiving a call just before 2.30pm today.
Images circulating on social media depict numerous police and ambulance vehicles surrounding a red double-decker bus. The stabbing incident occurred on a Route 472 bus on Woolwich Church Road near the junction with the A205 South Circular Road, according to the police.
Despite paramedics’ best efforts to save him at the scene, the boy tragically passed away. No arrests have been made yet, with the Met Police stating that the investigation is still in its early stages.
The force announced: “An investigation has been launched after the fatal stabbing of a teenage boy on a bus this afternoon.”
“Police were called at 14:28hrs on Tuesday, 7 January to reports of a stabbing on a bus in Woolwich, SE18. The incident occurred on a Route 472 bus on Woolwich Church Road near the junction with the A205 South Circular Road.”, reports the Mirror.
“Officers attended, along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. Paramedics treated a 14-year-old boy at the scene who had received stab wound injuries, but he very sadly died shortly after medics arrived.”
A cordon remains in place at the scene of the incident, with police urging the public to come forward with any information. The Met Police stated: “Police cordons and road closures remain in place whilst emergency services carry out enquiries. No arrests have been made at this early stage. If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information which may help, they are urged to call police on 101 with ref 3795/07JAN25 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
