Inside Tom Holland and Zendaya’s VERY right down to earth lives in leafy London suburb – after Euphoria star flashes ‘engagement’ ring on the Golden Globes
As one of the hottest couples in Hollywood, you might expect Tom Holland and Zendaya to reside in some gated LA community with 24/7 security and safe from public view.
However, the A-list couple, both 28, who are rumoured to have got engaged over Christmas and are said to be looking forward to ‘starting a family’, have chosen to make their permanent home in a much more low-key location.
Tom, who met Zendaya in 2017, snapped up a £2.5million house in Richmond, the leafy suburb in South West London known for its royal parks, Thameside location and cameos in hit Apple TV series Ted Lasso, back in 2018.
In the nearly eight years since, the couple have been frequently spotted quietly enjoying the anonymity that this well-heeled portion of Surrey affords them – and with a ring now apparently on Zendaya’s finger, it could be the place the couple look to raise a family in.
Sources revealed exclusively to DailyMail.com that Tom took an ‘old-fashioned’ approach and got permission from her family before he asked for his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star’s hand in marriage.
‘The proposal was sweet and romantic and happened over the holidays,’ the insider dished. He did it the old-fashioned way and got permission from her folks. Everyone is thrilled.’
The source continued: ‘They are the most normal couple at home, and she is ready to spend her life with him.
‘She has gotten everything she dreamed of and marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list.
Who needs LA? Tom Holland and Zendaya, who’ve been dating since 2017 and are thought to have got engaged over Christmas, enjoy a quiet life in the leafy South West London borough of Richmond
Sparkler: Zendaya showed off a ring finger dazzler at the Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton in LA on Sunday evening
It’s thought her Spider-Man beau asked for permission from her parents ahead of popping the question
Zendaya had all eyes on her this weekend when she flashed a beautiful diamond cluster ring at photographers on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards.
The day before, the 28-year-old actress was spotted in West Hollywood wearing the same ring as she arrived at an event to promote her hit film Challengers ahead of the announcement of Academy Award nominations later this month.
However, it’s not Hollywood but the pretty enclave of Richmond that the couple choose to retreat to when not filming blockbusters.
Here, FEMAIL looks at exactly how the couple live their life under the radar – enjoying Richmond’s beautiful parks, coffee shops and local tourist attractions…
DOG WALKS IN RICHMOND PARK, HAMPTON COURT AND A BITE TO EAT AT PETERSHAM NURSERIES
Hollywood king and queen! The pair enjoyed a date day at Henry VIII’s former home by the Thames, Hampton Court Palace in the spring of 2023
Like regular tourists, the couple posed for snaps seated at a banqueting table in the royal palace
During Tom’s stint last year as Romeo in Shakespeare’s famous play at the Duke Of York Theatre last year, he enjoyed a 40-minute commute back home after the show.
The couple were spotted frequently close to their home during the Spiderman star’s three month run, enjoying long walks with their beloved black miniature schnauzer, Noon, in Richmond Park.
The historic park, once hunting ground for Henry VIII, is the largest of London’s Royal Parks – at around 1,000 hectares, making it the perfect green space to get lost in.
One local resident told MailOnline: ‘There’s lots of celebrities living in Richmond, but not many of us have spotted Tom and Zendaya yet.
‘Most people don’t bat an eyelid when a famous face strolls through the town – they generally go unnoticed.’
With their dog Noon by their side, the couple were spotted last year strolling in Petersham Meadows, home to Petersham Nurseries, an upmarket garden centre, cafe and restaurant
Upmarket: Richmond’s riverfront – stacked with coffee shops and swish restaurants – has wooed plenty of celebrities west
Hit Apple TV series Ted Lasso has also shined a light on Richmond; the three-series show features the trials of Richmond FC and stars Jason Sudekis as US football coach Lasso
And the couple have also enjoyed a date at another place beloved of one of history’s most famous Kings – Hampton Court Palace.
Last spring, the couple enjoyed a fun day out at Henry VIII’s former home on the banks of the river – taking a guided tour of the spectacular baroque palace.
In one photo, the couple were seen perched on two large chairs at a long table which boasted several silver bowls.
The couple also enjoyed towpath and meadow walks close to Petersham Nurseries.
The super posh ‘rustic chic’ garden centre with a cafe and fancy restaurant in the middle of Petersham Meadows has been a favourite of Richmond residents since it opened in 1997 – and is the perfect spot for a quiet cup of English tea without prying eyes.
THE HOUSE: HOW A SIX-BED HOME WITH POTENTIAL WOOED TOM WEST
Wow! The extensive two-year renovations taking place at Tom Holland’s £2.5million west London home have been revealed in new photographs (pictured recently)
Having upscaled the property to their own bespoke designs, it’s thought the couple will make their Richmond home their main property (Pictured in October)
Changes: The actor changed large amounts of the structure and added extra living accommodation before moving into the house. Right: A new image shows what the screen star’s abode looks like now
Remodel: The Mail on Sunday previously revealed how the star bought the six-bedroom property in 2018 but wanted it extensively remodelled before moving in
The Spider-Man star purchased his sizeable home in 2018 for £2.5million – and then embarked upon an almighty renovation.
The actor apparently wanted to alter large amounts of the structure and add extra living accommodation before moving into the house.
The seven-figure renovations might well have been the biggest flag that the couple were planning on making South West London their permanent home.
Tom had been living with his comedian father Dominic and photographer mum Nicola until he snapped up the six bed property – and it’s thought his parents still live nearby.
Now finished, it’s thought the house boasts a cinema – ideal for a couple in the movies, plus a sauna and games room in a new rear extension.
Tom was also granted permission for a bigger basement and a timber-clad garden room that overlooks landscaped grounds.
MIDDLE CLASS COMFORTS: WAITROSE AND COFFEE TO GO FROM GAIL’S
Supermarket sweep: The couple pictured at a local Waitrose back in 2023
In spring 2023, Tom and Zendaya showed they were a) the epitome of domestic bliss and b) just like any other well-to-do couple in South West London, with a trip to their local Waitrose.
The couple walked hand-in-hand while grabbing coffee, before going to shop for groceries at the supermarket loved by the Middle Class.
Zendaya helped steer the trolley as the pair stocked up on groceries, with Tom stopping to pose for a selfie with a fan.
Zendaya was seen flashing a cheeky smile when the youngster asked for a photo with Tom, but didn’t realise who his superstar Emmy Award-winning actress girlfriend was.
