American beauty Abbie Stockard is officially the most beautiful woman stateside as she crowned at a beauty pageant over the weekend – to the delight of her NBA partner
Blonde bombshell Abbie Stockard has been crowned as the US’ most beautiful woman after winning the Miss America pageant.
Abbie, 22, could barely hide her excitement as she was crowned over the weekend – and her excitement was shared by her sporting boyfriend, Utah Jazz’s centre Walker Kessler.
Kessler had to watch the competition on his phone from afar, and he was hugged by a team-mate when the result was made official. He then said in an emotional Instagram post: “Congratulations Abbie! I am so proud of you and everything you stand for.
“Your hard work and trust in the Lord has awarded you with this incredible opportunity! Use your light to shine on others around you! Love you!”
Abbie, who is still a university student, was crowned with the beauty pageant title at the Walt Disney Theatre at the Dr Phillips Centre for Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida, on January 5.
“This is insane. I don’t know what I did to deserve this,” she said holding back tears. The blonde beauty had already been named as Miss Alabama, allowing her to qualify for the Miss America pageant.
However, her prize pot will go straight towards her tuition fees.
Abbie is currently studying at Auburn University and is working to obtain a doctorate of nurse anaesthesia, specialising in paediatrics. Abbie is hoping to bring awareness to cystic fibrosis, a disease which her best friend Maddie suffers from.
She told a local outlet: “I truly believe a cure will be discovered in our lifetime, but it will take more people getting involved to enhance awareness and fundraising efforts nationwide.”
It’s unknown how she met Kessler, but the couple appear to be loved-up.
They often share Instagram snaps of each other, with one showing them both on the basketball court. Kessler also shared images of Abbie’s win on his social media pages, inviting his fans to shower the stunner with praise after her achievement.
