Luke Shaw ‘shrugs off’ backlash from ‘your mum’s on advantages’ TikTook with Molly-Mae
Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw is said to have shrugged off any criticism regarding his controversial TikTok video with Molly-Mae which he took while injured
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw “did not have a problem” with his TikTok video that made Red Devils fans furious.
Shaw came under a mountain of scrutiny after he was involved in a TikTok trend video with Molly-Mae Hague at a New Years Eve party.
The United defender was at the lush celebration alongside his better half, Anouska Santos, who is reportedly part of the Love Island star’s close inner circle.
Anouska was part of the small group of friends who were with Molly when she was going through her break up with boxer Tommy Fury. One friend of the Love Island star described Anouska as a ‘rock for Molly.’
In the viral TikTok, Shaw was seen miming the words, “your mum’s on benefits.” Fans labelled it an “embarrassment to the club,” with one adding that Shaw would “never play again if Fergie was still in charge.”
However, one of the United defender’s mates has revealed the truth on how Shaw feels about it all.
He told The Sun: “Luke Shaw is used to the backlash he gets on a daily basis and often has people joking around with him about the fact he gets paid more for being off the pitch than he does on the pitch as he’s always injured.
“Even though the TikTok video was filmed at a private gathering, it ended up going viral, but Luke didn’t have a problem with it. To him, it was just a bit of light-hearted fun. He’s so used to the abuse he doesn’t let it bother him.
“That night everyone was in the mood to party and had a great night- with some drinking Class Azul Reposado – a really expensive tequila that’s a favourite with footballers at the moment.”
The tequila in question is worth around £160 per bottle. This price shouldn’t be a problem for Shaw as the England international earns £150k a week – all while injured.
Shaw only played 15 games in the entirety of last season. Although he made a return to football in late November, it only took 68 minutes of on-field time until the 29-year-old was injured again.
