Footage reveals what cop whose ‘brakes had locked up’ was truly doing in patrol automotive
The Florida cop initially claimed his drove into another car because his breaks had locked up – however bodycam footage revealed he was ‘multitasking’ at the time of the collision
A cop was forced to resign after he smashed his police car into a civilian’s vehicle – because he was distracted watching adult films at the wheel.
Tristan Macomberfirst lied about why he drove into another car on November 6, claiming his brakes had locked up. However, bodycam footage seen by TMZ, revealed that the Deputy Sheriff of Lake County, Florida was holding a phone at the time of the accident. When questioned, the cop said he was scrolling through text messages.
After reviewing the footage, investigators reported that they were “able to observe in the top right of the screen that D/S Macomber was holding what appears to be a cell phone in his right hand”.

During further questioning, Macomber conceded that he had been using his phone to watch racy content, the investigator’s report explained.
He first claimed he had been sent the explicit content in a group chat, however, on examination, no pictures or memes were found. The body cam video shows the disgraced cop cruising along in his patrol car before suddenly turning the wheel sharply as there is an impact and the car’s airbags burst out.
As sirens start to blare, the cop pulls himself together, letting out a massive groan.“Son of a b****”, he fumed as he gets out of his car, thrown his phone onto the driver’s seat. “Gosh darn it. Yep that f****** sucked”, he added while pulling himself together and telling an eyewitness that he is “good”.
He walks over to the car he hit, which had stopped to let a school bus pass, MailOnline reports, and said: “Hello ma’am, are you OK? I’m, so sorry.” The woman tell Macomber that she is fine.
He continued: “My brakes locked up, you good?”
Unsurprisingly, in watching porn on his phone while at work and driving, lying about the accident, not wearing a seatbelt, Macomber violated police policies.
Macomber, who has been with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office since 2021, resigned from his position because he was facing termination, NBC reported.
