Alan Shearer, the Premier League‘s most prolific scorer and a fixture of our weekend TV on Match of the Day, has a stunning family.

The former England captain, who bagged 260 goals in the top flight and netted 30 for the national team, retired from the pitch in 2006, some 19 years ago. And the Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers icon has since carved out a lucrative career off the field.

Boasting a whopping estimated net worth of £40million bolstered by his healthy BBC salary as an expert analyst and co-commentator, Shearer additionally flexes his analytical muscles with Amazon Prime and Al-Jazeera.

Beyond the limelight, Alan is very much the family man, celebrating nearly 34 years of marriage with wife Lainya, whom he met back in his Southampton days. While Lainya may shun public attention, Shearer has nevertheless entertained fans with personal anecdotes about their life together.

Revealing a candid moment on The Rest is Football podcast, he shared her incredulous reaction to his headline-making £3.3 million move to Blackburn Rovers in 1992 while she was heavily pregnant. Shearer said: “When she was eight months pregnant… she looked at me in the car and said, ‘What the f*** have you done?'”

While she may prefer to stay out of the limelight, the rest of the Shearer family are certainly making waves on social media. Son Will has amassed a following of 16,000 on Instagram, while his beautiful daughters Chloe and Hollie have an impressive 20,000 and a whopping 82,000 followers respectively, reports the Mirror.

Fashionista and bikini-loving model Hollie isn’t just popular on Instagram; she’s also a hit on Spotify with her top song racking up around 1.5 million plays. Not only that, but she’s taken TikTok by storm, sharing her fashion and lifestyle tips with nearly 335,000 followers

Chloe is making a name for herself in talent management, having worked with Soccer Aid, and both she and sister Hollie have a thing for rugby players when it comes to romance. Hollie’s relationship with England rugby star Joe Marchant took a serious turn when he popped the question under the romantic glow of the Eiffel Tower last November.The couple, who went public with their relationship in April 2022, are now living happily in France where he continues his career.

As their relationship blossomed, Shearer noticed his daughter’s growing interest in rugby over football. When it comes to his potential son-in-law, the goalscoring legend jokingly admitted he’s “just glad it’s not a footballer” but made it clear he fully supports Hollie’s choice.Meanwhile, Chloe is happily dating former scrum-half Micky Young. The 35-year-old had two spells at Newcastle Falcons before departing the North East club last year for a final season at Gloucester.In August, Newcastle announced that Young would be celebrated with a testimonial year, including a football dinner event featuring none other than Shearer.
