Liverpool are among the Premier League clubs showing interest in Antoine Semenyo as AFC Bournemouth prepare for potential transfer bids for their star striker.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian international has been a standout player for the Cherries this season, attracting attention from other clubs, in what could cause a headache for manager Andoni Iraola, especially if Arne Slot’s Premier League leaders come knocking.

Semenyo’s impressive performance under Iraola’s guidance has put him in the spotlight for a high-profile transfer, with Liverpool and Newcastle United identified as two of the interested parties for the ex-Bristol City player. A possible deal, whether in January or at season’s end, could be facilitated by Bournemouth’s interest in Liverpool youngster Ben Doak.

The 19-year-old winger has thrived during his loan spell in the Championship with Middlesbrough and might be considered for a swap if Semenyo is approached for a move to Anfield. Doak has also been a man in demand.

Offers for Doak including one from Crystal Palace were rejected by the Reds, but their interest seems to have shifted towards Romain Esse from Millwall, leaving it uncertain if they will return with another bid for Doak.

Semenyo – who has scored five goals this term after eight last season – has an estimated worth of £50million. This hefty price tag might cause his admirers to hold off until the summer, unless there are changes in the situation in the coming weeks.

Liverpool’s transfer sights are also said to be set on Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 23-year-old Georgian sensation who has rocked the boat with a transfer plea. Whilst Kvaratskhelia seems to have his heart set on a Parisian adventure with Paris Saint-Germain, the French titans have not yet sealed the deal with Napoli, reports the Mirror.

Antonio Conte, at the helm of Napoli, confirmed this Saturday that Kvaratskhelia is angling for an exit. He said: “[Kvaratskhelia] asked the club to be sold.

“I’m disappointed. It was a bolt from the blue. I don’t want him to think I’ve chained him here… We’re losing an important player.”

The seasoned manager, with stints at Tottenham and Chelsea under his belt, further revealed: “I tried to convince Kvaratskhelia to stay but he has decided to go and try new chapter. The club and his agent will now find the solution… I can’t keep Kvara here if he doesn’t want to stay.”Liverpool, blessed with a treasure trove of attacking talent, are yet to firm up a fresh deal with Mohammed Salah, while Luis Diaz has been stirring up interest from various clubs, including Barcelona, over the past year.
