Police have provided an update in the hunt for missing siblings Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, as their triplet has shared concerns.

Officers are ramping up their search efforts for the missing pair, who vanished near Victoria Bridge on Market Street in Aberdeen, Scotland. They were last seen at about 2.12am on Tuesday, and the River Dee has become the epicentre of the investigation. Divers have already been scouring the section nearest to the sisters’ last known location captured on CCTV.

The search has since widened to include areas towards the Port of Aberdeen’s South Harbour and Duthie Park as of Saturday.

The siblings, part of a triplet set hailing from Hungary, have sparked a significant response, with police now intensifying searches along the River Dee. Despite the extensive efforts, detectives have found no evidence of foul play concerning Eliza and Henrietta’s disappearance. A renewed plea for information was issued on Saturday.

Chief Inspector Darren Bruce expressed the family’s distress and the force’s commitment to the case: “Eliza and Henrietta’s family are understandably extremely worried about them and we are working tirelessly to find them. We are seriously concerned about them and have significant resources dedicated to the inquiry. We are again urging the public to come forward with any information relating to Eliza and Henrietta’s whereabouts.”

He further emphasised the importance of public assistance, saying: “The focus of our search remains the River Dee and I would again ask, if you were in the area at the time, please think back, did you notice anyone matching their description? Even if it doesn’t seem significant, please pass any information on and let us be the judge of that.”

Eliza and Henrietta’s brother, Jozsef, told the BBC that he last spoke to them on Saturday last week, noting they appeared “fine” before their mysterious vanishing.

Edit, the third triplet, also mentioned she had a conversation with her sisters on New Year’s Eve, saying they were in good spirits, but found their nocturnal wanderings unusual. The siblings had relocated from Hungary to Scotland seven years ago.
