WWE damage large star’s shock Netflix RAW debut as followers say ‘somebody’s getting fired’
After weeks of WWE teasing former AEW wrestler Penta’s debut on RAW on Netflix, annoyed fans clocked the wrestling franchise has started flogging the performer’s merch online
WWE fans are complaining that the franchise has ruined a massive surprise ahead of a superstar’s rumoured debut tonight on RAW..
Former AEW wrestler Penta has been rumoured to be getting in the ring for his debut tonight on Netflix, but observant fans of the professional wrestling promotion company are up in arms following a post on X, formerly Twitter. WWE took to the social media platform to share that Penta’s merch is now up for sale on the WWE website – prompting people to complain about “spoilers”.
“Way to spoil the surprise tonight,” wrote an aggrieved fan on X. “ Yo, they dropping the shirt before the debut?! Brother,” said another person.
“Someone’s getting fired for this,” suggested one person, indicating that it could have been a mistake by the WWE to launch a superstar’s merch before the grand unveiling.
Penta’s name was featured in a vignette last week and is expected to face off against Chad Gable later tonight.
The site currently has four items for sale: a black Penta logo t-shirt, a white Penta mask t-shirt, white Penta hoodie, and a replica Penta luchador mask.
Last week the long-awaited streaming debut of Monday Night Raw featured tonnes of nostalgia with appearances from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan as well as WWE’s current big hitters, with the former Universal champion Roman Reigns competing on RAW for the first time in almost three years.
Much was speculated about how Netflix’s financial might would change the flagship show’s production following the streaming giant’s earlier forays into sports streaming with Jake Paul v Mike Tyson and its NFL Christmas Day event.
Elsewhere, John Cena returned to our screens for the first time since announcing that 2025 would be his retirement year. The 16-time world champion alluded to fans’ ambitions for him to clinch the WWE championship for a record 17th time.
