Chelsea want more than £60million if they are to sell Christopher Nkunku this month amid interest in the forward from Bayern Munich, Mail Sport has learned.

Nkunku was signed from RB Leipzig for £52m in 2023 and is currently tied down to a deal that lasts until 2029, though the 27-year-old Frenchman has grown frustrated by his lack of game time under Enzo Maresca.

Nkunku could now be set for a return to the Bundesliga if Bayern find Chelsea’s asking price agreeable, or if the Germans feel they can negotiate a lower number with their English counterparts.

It is a similar valuation to the one that Napoli want in order to sell Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, which is understood to stand at around 70million euros (£59million).

Kvaratskhelia has told his Italian club that he is ready to leave this month, having been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are waiting to see if Bayern offer them any encouragement that a deal can be done for their 19-year-old forward Mathys Tel.

The Blues have a long-standing interest in the teenager, having also checked on his availability in the summer, as reported by Mail Sport on Monday.

As it stands, there are no talks being held over a swap deal involving Tel and Nkunku, as they are being seen as separate transactions.
