Luke Littler received a 24-carat gold iPhone after winning the World Darts Championship.

The teenage darting sensation has become a world-renowned star since his breakthrough at Ally Pally just over 12 months ago, and his success earlier this month in becoming the youngest world champion in history has only enhanced his already superstar reputation.

Littler joined another exclusive club this week as he received a custom designed iPhone that are only made and gifted to sport’s biggest stars. The 17-year-old shared a picture on Instagram after opening a padlocked case with his gold iPhone inside, with his nickname ‘The Nuke’ inscribed on the back.

“Thanks to @idg and @stradauae for the golden phone,” Littler posted on Instagram as he showed off the phone while wearing a black hat from Dubai real estate company Strada. One fan replied: “Mate you’re winning at life right now ,fair play to you lad”

IDG make custom iPhones but are not for sale. Their Instagram page states that the “they’re reserved for those who prove they’re worthy.” IDG have made and sent gold custom iPhones to a range of sport’s biggest stars.

Following Argentina’s World Cup triumph in 2022, Lionel Messi received a custom gold iPhone with the Argentine Football Association badge, ‘World Cup Champions 2022’ and Messi’s name and iconic No.10 on the back.

IDG also sent gold iPhones to Emiliano Martinez, Angel Di Maria and Rodrigo De Paul with the same champions embroidery and their respective names and squad numbers in recognition of their starring role in delivering Argentina’s third World Cup.

Golf star Bryson DeChambeau also received a gold phone following his US Open win last year. The design included the US Open logo and ‘Champion Bryson DeChambeau 2024’ inscribed underneath.

Gold phones have been handed to Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, Ronaldinho and Neymar. While Rory McIlroy received a custom design after his Dubai Desert Classic victory last year and Rodri following his Ballon d’Or award.

Littler beat Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in the final at Ally Pally earlier this month. ‘The Nuke’ has a major target on his back with his opponents having to find their best game to match him. 16-time world champ Phil Taylor called it the ‘ Manchester United syndrome’.

“If he wants to beat my world record, then he can go ahead and do it,” Taylor said. “You get, what I used to call the Man Utd syndrome – where everybody raises their game against you. And it can take its toll.”
