Ruben Amorim has warned his wantaway Manchester United stars they will leave on the club’s terms and not their own.

Amorim is facing an uncertain January, with a number of players keen to get out of Old Trafford in the transfer window. Marcus Rashford has made it clear he wants to quit United to find a new club and challenge elsewhere.

The England forward, who has been frozen out of Amorim’s squad in recent weeks, is talking to a number of potential suitors, including Barcelona and AC Milan. Other players eyeing up an escape route from United include the likes of Casemiro, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen.

Brazilian international Casemiro is wanted by a host of Saudi clubs, with United desperate to get the £400,000-a-week flop off the club’s wage bill. While clubs in Spain, Italy and Germany are all considering moves for Garnacho, Antony, Malacia and Eriksen.

The potential disruption is in danger of proving a distraction to Amorim, as he looks to build on a run of three games unbeaten. But he insists any deals will have to be right for United – and has urged all of his players to keep their focus, with four games still remaining before the window closes.

Amorim said: “Like I said, I want to keep my players, I’m focused on these players. I don’t know what is going to happen in this window, we’ll see. They are our players, so we have control on that. We decide on that.

“Sometimes it’s harder for the players because they have some information, and you can feel it in every team. It’s like that. For me, it’s harder to prepare for the game when we lose.

“When we win, we can manage everything, expectations, the bad mood for some players. We’ll prepare the game in the same way and just focus on the next game.”
