Bouncers seize feminine knife attacker and disarm her after lady was stabbed on the street – as police arrest suspect for tried homicide

Brave bouncers managed to intervene in a knife attack, disarming and detaining an alleged attacker after a woman was stabbed in the street.

Police have since arrested a 47-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder.

The incident occurred along Biggin Street in Dover, Kent, shortly after 10pm on Friday, January 17.

The victim, who was aged in her 50s, was unknown to her attacker police have said.

Kent Police, who are leading the investigation into the knife attack, said that security staff from a nearby pub managed to detain the attacker.

The staff were able to remove the knife from the attacker and aid the victim until officers arrived on the scene.

A force spokesman said that the victim was treated in hospital but was later discharged and added that the suspect remained in custody for questioning.

The spokesman said: ‘A woman has been arrested for attempted murder following a knife assault in Dover.

‘It is reported the victim, aged in her 50s, was attacked with a large kitchen knife as she was walking along Biggin Street.

‘Security staff at a nearby pub intervened and managed to disarm and restrain the suspect until police arrived.

‘Officers were quickly at the scene and arrested a 47-year-old woman. She was taken into custody.

‘The victim was treated at hospital for injuries to her back and has now been discharged.

‘The suspect was unknown to her’.

Detective Chief Inspector Bev Morrison said: ‘This was a horrific incident and our thoughts remain with the victim who thankfully suffered no serious harm.

‘I would like to commend the courageous actions of those who bravely intervened, and who without hesitation and no thoughts for their own safety put themselves at risk’.
