When is KSI vs Wayne Bridge? Ex-Chelsea star set for beautiful boxing combat
KSI is set to make his epic return to the boxing ring when he takes on former footballer Wayne Bridge in a bout that will take place on a stacked Misfits 21 card
YouTube sensation KSI is gearing up for a comeback in the boxing ring against Wayne Bridge.
The internet celeb hasn’t stepped into the ring since his loss to Tommy Fury in October 2023. He was set to face Slim and Anthony Taylor in an unusual two-on-one bout last year but had to withdraw due to injury. Recently, the 31-year-old hinted at a desire to fight former UFC champ Conor McGregor on X.
He posted, “Not rumoured. I’m very down.” And even shared a mock-up fight poster of him and McGregor with the caption: “Let’s make this happen @TheNotoriousMMA.”
Despite his eagerness, KSI will instead be fighting former footballer Bridge in Manchester on March 29. This development follows KSI’s manager Mams Taylor telling talkSPORT that discussions about a potential McGregor match were happening: “There are talks taking place, and talks are leading to more talks,” he claimed.
“I know he’s interested for a fact. I think no fight makes more sense than this fight for Conor.”
“He was truly unbelievable in the days where he fought Jose Aldo. He’s a tough guy, he’s a tough challenge for anyone and I think now with the back and forth, it makes sense. I think this will break records and be in the top five biggest selling pay-per-views of all-time.
“I think all sides are motivated by what it can do, they can both sell. There is an underlying respect and disdain there too. I think it will be a massive, massive fight and I can’t think of a fight that would be bigger for Conor in terms of numbers.”
KSI last tasted victory in the ring in January 2023, when he knocked out FaZe Temperrr in the first round. However, his subsequent win against Joe Fournier was overturned due to an accidental elbow strike.
Eager to regain his winning form, KSI faced a tough opponent in Tommy Fury, but ultimately suffered his first professional loss. Now, with his return to the ring scheduled, the 31-year-old is aiming for a busy and dominant 2025 in boxing.
Bridge has had an England Boxing licensed amateur bout against Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews in 2018 for Sport Relief.
