Lotto gamers urged to examine tickets now as £4m winner but to assert jackpot
The National Lottery is urging players to check their tickets and get in touch if they think they may have won, with a lucky winner due to get a massive £4million windfall
One lucky ticketholder has managed to win Saturday’s £4 million Lotto jackpot, but no one has claimed it.
The ticketholder had a match for all six of the winning numbers, allowing them to collect £4,004,523 in prize money, which means that Wednesday’s jackpot is set to be around £2 million.
Andy Carter, the senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “This year is off to an exciting start as this is already the third Lotto jackpot win of 2025, following on from another lucky ticketholder who won the £4 million jackpot on January 11 and James Clarkson from Carlisle, who, at 20 years of age, scooped the incredible £7.5 million Lotto jackpot on January 4.”
He encouraged players to check their tickets to see if they have won the jackpot. No Lotto ticket holders matched all five numbers and the bonus ball to win £1 million, but there were 85 players who won £1,750 after matching five out of the six numbers.
The winning Lotto numbers were 02, 13, 24, 29, 32, 39 and the bonus number was 46. Set of balls two and draw machine Lancelot were used.
No players matched all five numbers to win £350,000 in the Lotto HotPicks, which uses the same numbers as the Lotto draw, while four matched four numbers to claim £13,000.
No-one scooped the £500,000 top prize, but four tickets scooped £5,000 each for matching five numbers.
It comes as a 20-year-old trainee gas engineer couldn’t believe his luck after winning the lottery, with James Clarkson’s Lotto numbers on Saturday January 4 returning him the staggering, life-changing sum of £7,533,329.
Incredibly it was winning £120 in the Lotto Christmas Day draw which funded five more Lotto tickets – one of which, proved to be life-changing.
Despite becoming a multi-millionaire overnight and eyeing up a few flash purchases, James is keeping his feet on the ground and refuses to let his explosive bank balance go to his head.
Working for his parents may or may not have something to do with his down to Earth attitude but it won’t stop him having a bit of fun on the side.
