Marcus Rashford’s exit at Manchester United could come as soon as Thursday.

Rashford, 27, has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim at the Red Devils – and he now looks set to leave Old Trafford this window. And according to German outlet BILD, that could be as soon as Thursday (January 23).

The report states, via the Express, that Dortmund are planning to announce the Englishman’s loan arrival on Thursday so he can feature in their crunch clash with Werder Bremen on Saturday (January 26).

Dortmund are not known for splashing the cash but they are set to fork out just shy of £6million for Rashford’s wages between now and the end of the campaign – and that could rise further if they keep him on for the Club World Cup in June and July.

And every penny will count for United, who have been stunted in the transfer market due to PSR limits.

Rashford dropped the bombshell he would be open to leaving United on December 17, in an interview with Henry Winter: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’.

“You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person. If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person.

“When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.”

There had been links to Serie A, with AC Milan and Napoli emerging as the two frontrunners, but Dortmund have now emerged as likely destination for the wantaway Red Devil.
