Trump’s screensaver is close-up of himself as he checks notifications after being sworn in
Donald Trump took a moment to check his phone and multiple notifications during his inauguration day – only to reveal his lock screen is a close-up picture of himself
A new photo taken at President Trump’s inauguration shows his screensaver as he received several messages – and it’s a picture of himself.
One photographer managed to catch a snap off Trump over his shoulder as he responded to several messages of congratulations today, January 20. The Republican is set to embark on his second term in office, after he was sworn in as the 47th president of the US. Today, Monday January 20, marks a national holiday to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr day, an occasion to mark equality in the country.
However, all eyes were on the White House as he took to the Rotunda to give his first speech as president for the second time. Several other familiar faces were at the event, including Elon Musk, former presidents Obama, Biden and Bush, and even singers such as Carrie Underwood.
Attention was on his lock screen, however, which simply showed him pulling a serious face. The photo did not include any of his family or close friends.
On the phone, messages could be seen congratulating him following his swearing-in.
During his speech, Trump made several huge claims about his upcoming role. He told the audience: “I will immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families. Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens.”
“I stand before you as proof that you should never believe something is impossible to do. In America, doing the impossible is what we do best,” Trump said. “We will not fail. From this day on, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign and independent nation,” he says.
“The future is ours, and our golden age has just begun.”
Trump detailed: “We will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, to plant the stars and stripes on planet Mars,” in his promise to get Americans on Mars during his presidential run. He also touched upon his relationship with China.
He claimed “China is operating” the Panama Canal. “We didn’t give it to China. We’re taking it back,” he said, to applause from his supporters.
Biden and Harris, who were sat to the left of President Trump, listened on to his speech in silence with little acknowledgment to his bold words.
