Tornado terror could be on the cards for Brits tomorrow as Storm Eowyn gears up to unleash chaos across the country. The European Storm Forecast Experiment has issued a stark warning that twisters hitting parts of the south “cannot be ruled out”.

They’ve slapped down a level two alert, signalling “severe wind gusts with a few tornado events possible”. The south of England is in the danger zone, particularly the stretch between London and Bristol, which could put millions in the path of potential destruction.

Meanwhile, level one warnings are in place for the wider southern region and into Wales. Last year’s mini tornado in Finham, Coventry, still haunts locals after it wreaked havoc and caused a fortune in damages.

Homeowner Kay Cook recalled the horror as “bricks came down” and she feared her roof would give way around 6.30pm.

Another resident described how the ferocious winds left a “massive hole” when a tree was uprooted. A colossal 100ft (30m) tree smashed into four gardens on Beanfield Avenue, while other trees were snapped “like twigs”, reports the Mirror.

The wild weather tore panels off scaffolding, sending residents scrambling for cover indoors. Homeowner Kay recounted the mayhem: “I thought the conservatory roof was going to come in and the chairs outside were going everywhere.

Tomorrow’s chance of tornadoes comes as Brits were told to brace for a “weather bomb” with Storm Eowyn set to cause chaos and “widespread disruption.”

The storm has prompted amber and yellow weather warnings, with forecasters predicting gusts of up to 90mph in some areas, signalling a day of “widespread disruption”. Weather maps have turned a menacing red, purple and black, showcasing the severe gale speeds that are expected to lash the country.

The Met Office has issued a statement: “All eyes are on Storm Eowyn which will arrive on Friday. The wettest and windiest conditions will be during the morning in the south but damaging winds will last throughout the day further north. Severe weather warnings are in place, so keep up to date with the forecast.”

Central Scotland down to northern Wales and England, along with all of Northern Ireland, are under amber wind warnings from 6am to 9pm on Friday. Even those outside the worst-hit areas will face multiple yellow weather warnings.

Storm Eowyn is set to make its presence felt from Thursday, with heavy rain from the east arriving first. The tempestuous conditions will persist into Friday morning, as the storm brings rain that will initially fall as snow over parts of Northern Ireland, Scotland, and higher ground in northern England.
