Storm Eowyn reside updates: Scale of flight cancellations revealed with crimson warnings in drive

Storm Eowyn struck the UK and Ireland with hurricane-force winds today – cancelling flights, trains and ferries as 114mph gusts pose a danger to life.
Rare red weather warnings were issued for Scotland and Northern Ireland as the storm is set to damage buildings, uproot trees and cause power cuts.
Amber and yellow wind warnings are also in place for other parts of the UK, while various train companies have told customers not to travel today.

As a result of the red weather warning, Police Scotland is advising the public not to travel in the affected areas between 10am and 5pm on Friday. We have therefore, unfortunately, had to take the decision to postpone all non-urgent outpatient clinics and appointments in the interests of safety.
