Man Utd switch information: Red Devils ‘assured of finishing one other signing’ as star ‘flies out for medical’
Manchester United are looking to finalise their January transfer business with Patrick Dorgu, Alejandro Garnacho and Joao Felix all linked with moves to Old Trafford
Manchester United are racing against time with just over a week left to seal the deal in the January transfer window.
While they’ve managed to send Ethan Ennis, Joe Hugill, and Ethan Williams out on loan, the big-name signings they’ve been linked with are still up in the air. Marcus Rashford is staying put at Old Trafford for now, and there’s no handshake yet on a deal for Patrick Dorgu.
Alejandro Garnacho is the talk of the town, with Chelsea and Liverpool sniffing around, but boss Ruben Amorim played it cool about any transfer buzz. “I am focused on the games and he is here, he is here playing for Manchester United,” he commented.
“He was really important for us today so let’s see in the next days,” reports the Mirror.
Amorim’s got the hump over United’s lack of action in the market this month, as per MEN reports. Apparently, Amorim wasn’t clued in on United’s money woes when he signed up, although club insiders reckon the 39-year-old was given the lowdown on the financial situation.
The former Sporting CP gaffer was told by United chiefs that they’d need to flog some players before bringing in new faces during January. But the club’s standing firm, insisting they won’t be bullied into selling anyone unless they want to.
United are keeping their heads held high, confident in their strategy.
United are reportedly in talks over Patrick Dorgu, but they’re also confident of securing another signing. The Red Devils have reportedly reached out to 18-year-old Arsenal defender Ayden Heaven, who made his senior debut against Preston earlier this season.
United are believed to be leading the race for Heaven’s signature, with the youngster even spotted at a recent Europa League match where United triumphed over Rangers.
Eintracht Frankfurt are also said to be interested in the teen, who was seen at one of their games earlier this month. Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly offering Heaven an extension before his contract runs out this summer.
In the outgoings, Antony has jetted to Betis to complete his medical.
In a surprising twist, United have reportedly contacted Joao Felix’s agent about a potential move from Chelsea. The Portuguese star joined the Blues last summer from Atletico Madrid but hasn’t managed to secure a starting spot under Enzo Maresca.
Sportzine reports that United have been in touch with Jorge Mendes this week to discuss a potential transfer. However, direct negotiations with Chelsea are yet to commence.
Felix could provide Amorim with some flexibility across the forward positions and might fit well into the head coach’s system. The club is reportedly optimistic that the promise of more playing time could entice Felix away from Stamford Bridge.
