Premier League gamers pulled aside in full-time brawl after ill-tempered conflict
Brighton and Everton players had to be separated at full-time during their Premier League clash which saw the Toffees claim a 1-0 win over the Seagulls at the Amex
Everton and Brighton players had to be separated after the final whistle at the Amex after tensions spilled over.
The Toffees recorded their second consecutive Premier League win since David Moyes’ return to Merseyside, with a first-half Iliman Ndiaye penalty proving the difference as Everton ran out 1-0 winners.
However, after the full-time whistle, sparks flew, with players from either side needing to be separated. The altercation saw Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and Everton’s James Tarkowski involved, with Jordan Pickford also amongst the incident.
Earlier in the game, Ndiaye also channelled his inner Jamie Vardy against Brighton, flapping his arms around like a Seagull in front of the home supporters after tucking home his penalty.
Clearly, Everton supporters on social media didn’t mind watching their players get stuck in at the end of the game either.
“Tarky there just dragging the little squirt away hahaha,” wrote one fan on X. A second added: “Great win that there f***in heads have gone at the end there UTFT.”
A third said: “Brighton manhandled for 98 minutes then kick-off after the final whistle.” A fourth said: “Proper sore loses them lost couldn’t beat 10 men Everton tinpot they are.”
A fifth commented: “Iliman Ndiaye really got booked for doing a seagull celebration infront of the Brighton fans… The game is so far gone.” And a sixth wrote: “Brighton don’t like it up them!”
The result means the Toffees sit seven points clear of the relegation zone, with Moyes having guided them to back-to-back Premier League victories following their win over Tottenham a week prior.
Speaking after the win, Moyes said: “My heart has still not settled after that! It ended up a great results for us. Really important for us, we are too close to the bottom. A lot of belief coming back. Brighton put us to the sword, but we got the goal that mattered.”
Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said: “We played against a very disciplined team. We weren’t clean enough in the first half and didn’t force it enough. We did not have good box positioning and then we faced an opponent who tried to break the rhythm all the time. Then it’s very difficult.”
