Luke Littler admits what he says to women who need to meet up after World Champs heroics
Luke Littler has opened up on the messages he has received from women since winning the PDC World Darts Championship in January, as the darts sensation’s reputation soars
World darts champ Luke Littler has admitted he mostly swerves attention from female admirers after his triumphant win at Ally Pally.
The young star lifted the World Darts Championship earlier this month, pocketing a cool £500k after defeating Michael van Gerwen in an electrifying final before he turned 18 this week.
Just last summer, Littler split with his then-girlfriend Eloise Milburn, pleading with supporters to avoid messaging her. “Everyone needs to stop sending hate towards Eloise saying it’s her fault this and that, I myself split up with Eloise and everyone just needs give us some time, no need for everyone to message her and give her grief,” he implored back in July following his Premier League Darts victory.
But post-World Championship glory in January, propositions have been flooding in from numerous ladies eager to link up. Yet Littler isn’t paying them any attention.
He told The Mail: “I have had a few requests from girls to meet up. But I generally don’t reply. It’s just people looking at me and the money I am making, and they want part of that. My mum and dad told me to keep the friends I have. Give it a few years and I may meet someone along the way.”
“I have a couple of good friends from school and a few friends from different schools. They are doing well. They have apprenticeships, at Asda or McDonald’s, or want to be plumbers or electricians. All have good jobs and are trying to make money for themselves.”
Littler’s rise to the top of the darts world has been nothing short of phenomenal. In the past 12 months, he has won the 2024 Premier League Darts, netting a huge £275,000, and followed it up with another six-figure win in the Grand Slam of Darts. He also claimed the Bahrain Darts Masters title in early 2024, but was unable to defend it this year, losing to Gerwyn Price.
Littler’s latest campaign, the Dutch Darts Masters, got off to a nervy start as he edged out Dimitri Van den Bergh 6-4 to set up a quarter-final showdown with Van Gerwen. He followed up the Ally Pally victory with a 6-3 victory over the Dutchman but was beaten 7-6 by eventual runner-up Stephen Bunting in the semi-final.
