Leeds United are reportedly eyeing a sensational move for former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before the January transfer window closes.

The Peacocks, who played out a bore draw in a top-of-the-table clash with Burnley on Monday night, are said to be keen on bringing the midfielder back to England, as per The Sun.

Oxlade-Chamberlain left Anfield in the summer of 2023 after a successful stint that saw him clinch the Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup titles. He was picked up by Besiktas post his Liverpool exit and featured regularly in his first season in Turkey.

However, game time has been scarce for the 31-year-old, and it’s believed he’s eager for a transfer back to the Premier League.

Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also reportedly interested in the midfielder, but their Premier League statuses are hanging in the balance.

This could give Leeds an edge as they aim for a top-flight return. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did hand Oxlade-Chamberlain a surprise start at the weekend, but it’s thought he would be open to loaning out the 31-year-old with an option for a permanent deal at season’s end.

Leeds’ promotion rivals Sheffield United have also been linked with Oxlade-Chamberlain, with his ex-Liverpool teammate Rhian Brewster currently at Bramall Lane, reports Leeds Live.

However, it remains to be seen if the Blades will reignite their interest in the midfielder this winter.
