Sydney gentle rail companies floor to a halt inflicting commuter chaos
All of Sydney‘s light rail services have ground to a halt on Wednesday morning, causing commuter chaos.
Light rail services on L1 Dulwich Hill, L2 Randwick, and L3 Kingsford were suspended from about 8am, a Transdev spokesperson said.
As of 9am the L1 services had since resumed.
The suspensions were ‘due to a technical issue with Sydney Light Rail communications and signalling systems’.
‘Technical crews are trying to determine the cause and rectify the fault,’ the spokesperson said.
‘Customer service staff are being deployed at key stops.
‘Customers are advised to consider alternative transport, allow plenty of extra travel time and check Transport apps for service updates including replacement bus options.’
Two light rail cars could be seen grounded at the Town Hall station.

‘Another public transport failure in Chris Minns MP’s Sydney,’ complained one commuter on social media.
‘No light rail services today.
‘Pathetic stuff, truly and utterly – we’re over it – either industrial action or under maintained infrastructure.’
‘Another day, another power outage on my commute,’ fumed another.
