Armed police automotive chase in Wimbledon sees needed fugitive caught eventually after occurring the run throughout the nation
A wanted fugitive has been caught following an armed police car chase in south London.
Metropolitan Police officers pursued a stolen vehicle in Wimbledon after an alert by Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
Armed police briefly chased the vehicle before it crashed in the south London neighbourhood.
The driver, who was also wanted for crimes by Cleveland Police, was arrested for multiple offences.
A statement from Roads & Transport MPS reads: ‘#SouthWest traffic were alerted to a stolen vehicle from@CambsCops. Our @MPSMerton and @MPSFirearms joined us and the vehicle failed to stop.
‘A short pursuit occurred in #Wimbledon where the driver crashed and was arrested for multiple offences. Also wanted by @ClevelandPolice.’

The force’s traffic division posted pictures of the smashed dark blue vehicle with a severely damaged front at a junction of traffic lights.
Photos showed the car, which also had smashed windows, about to be hoisted on to a large crane truck.
