WWE Royal Rumble 2025 LIVE: Netflix hosts present as CM Punk, Roman Reigns and John Cena do battle
WWE’s iconic Royal Rumble event is back and for the first time ever, it’s airing on Netflix for UK viewers.
The over-the-top rope spectacular is the highlight of many fans’ WWE calendar, with the chance to headline WrestleMania on offer, and with stars like CM Punk, Roman Reigns and John Cena taking part in the 30-person match, this year should be no exception.
The event begins around 11pm on Saturday evening (January 29) for UK viewers and should be expected to finish at around 3am, with full live coverage on the streaming giant.
Alongside the men’s and women’s annual Royal Rumble matches, WWE have also announced two title matches at the time of writing, with the potential for more to be added.

Reigning WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will defend his belt against long-time rival Kevin Owens in a ladder match, after Rhodes won their initial match-up on the Saturday Night’s Main Event show back in December.
New WWE Tag Team Champions DIY, consisting of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will also battle former champs the Motor City Machine Guns on the show, with Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin keen to win their titles back in a two out of three falls match.
In the two Royal Rumble matches themselves, there are a huge number of storylines and sub-plots across the men’s and women’s versions. John Cena has already announced he will be retiring at the end of 2025, with this event marking his last Royal Rumble match and one of the last opportunities he’ll have to headline WrestleMania one more time.
But standing in his way is one of the bookies’ favourites, CM Punk, along with stars including Roman Reigns, the recently-debuted Penta, Drew McIntryre, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and even Logan Paul.
In the women’s match, we already know that Charlotte Flair will make her return after tearing her ACL and MCL all the way back in December 2023. She’s the heavy favourite to pick up the win, but there has also been speculation that former champion Becky Lynch could return to WWE after she went on a hiatus after her contract expired.
