BREAKING Sheffield stabbing replace as boy, 15, charged with homicide of Harvey Willgoose

The boy thought to have stabbed and murdered 15-year-old Harvey Willgoose has been charged after being held in custody since the incident on Monday, February 3.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Harvey, who was stabbed to death at a school in Sheffield, the Crown Prosecution Service said. All Saints Catholic High School, South Yorkshire, had reported to parents that a “serious incident” happened earlier on Monday. Messages sent to families say: “Students will be released when police give permission.”

A teen was stabbed at the school at about 12.17pm while another teenage boy was detained by the police. Since then, the death of the teen was confirmed, and he was identified as Harvey Willgoose.

The identity of the suspect has still not been released, pending a trial. However, it has been confirmed that the teenager charged with Harvey Willgoose’s murder will appear before Sheffield Youth Court today (February 5).

Chris Hartley, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service Yorkshire and Humberside, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has reviewed a file of evidence from South Yorkshire Police.

“We have authorised South Yorkshire Police to charge a 15-year-old with murder in relation to the death of Harvey Willgoose, 15, at All Saints Catholic High School on 3 February. He has also been charged with possession of a bladed article and one count of affray.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are active and that the youth has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
