Ana Maria Markovic has hit back at critics who claim she hates football.

Markovic, who has been crowned as the planet’s most beautiful footballer, has been left without a club after leaving Braga on Transfer Deadline Day. “Sometimes things don’t go as planned. After just half a season, I decided to leave SC Braga,” she said on social media.

“It was a short but intense journey with ups and downs, but one in which I was able to grow and develop a lot as a footballer.

“The best part? Definitely my team-mates! Thank you for your support, team spirit, and all the great moments on and off the pitch – you are amazing!

“A big thank you to the club for their professionalism throughout my time here and to the fans, for the support. The journey continues and I’m excited for what’s next!”

The move comes after Markovic joked she hate’s football as she waved goodbye to boyfriend Tomas Ribeiro who signed for Farnese from Vitoria in the winter transfer window – swapping the north of Portugal for the south.

And Markovic has now hit back at critics on social media.

She shared an Instagram story on Wednesday (February 5) rolling her eyes to the hate comments that she had typed out. “Where are you,” one read as a second said: “Are you going back to Switzerland?”

“Come to Italy,” and “She just went because of her boyfriend.”

“Go to England,” a fifth said while another added: “She just plays football for marketing!”

“It’s everything for social media,” and “Welcome to Damaiense,” while the final read: “She hates football!”
