Woman, 36, discovered lifeless after ‘man forces his manner’ inside west London flat – as police launch homicide probe

A woman’s dead body was discovered after a man was seen trying to force his way inside a west London flat.

Police have launched an urgent murder probe after the 36-year-old’s lifeless body was found in the flat in Coulter Road, Hammersmith, just before 10.15pm on Sunday.

Officers rushed to the house in response to reports that a man was forcibly trying to enter the property.

But when emergency crews arrived at the scene and entered the flat, the victim was already dead, having sustained a head injury. Her family has not yet been informed.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Ellie Scot, 22, who has lived in the area almost all of her life called the death ‘shocking’.

She described the road as ‘quite peaceful’, adding: ‘There’s never any trouble around here’.

Another woman living nearby, who did not want to be named, said she had seen blue lights on Sunday evening.
