The final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park has brought a boiling atmosphere with Everton fans hoping to gain the city’s bragging rights for the last time at their famous old home.

Everton fans lined the streets in numbers as they welcomed both team’s buses with contrasting reactions. As Arne Slot’s side arrived to a hostile reception with blue flares and even fireworks lit.

This fixture was originally scheduled for December 7 for a half 12 kick-off, but the game was postponed due to safety concerns caused by Storm Darragh.

However, the new date under the light has made the atmosphere that touch more special as David Moyes, rather than Sean Dyche, as it would have been in December, takes on Liverpool for the final time in front of the Gwladys Streets End.

However, their lead didn’t last long as Alexis Mac Allister headed home an equaliser just five minutes later from Mohamed Salah’s cross.
