Premier League make embarrassing Arne Slot U-turn after Liverpool boss ‘banned’
The Premier League have made an embarrassing U-turn after stating that Liverpool boss Arne Slot had been banned following his red card against Everton.
Slot was sent off after full-time of Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Everton on Wednesday. A brawl after the final whistle saw Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure shown red cards, while Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were also given red cards after confronting referee Michael Oliver.
The Premier League had previously released a statement saying Slot will receive a two-game touchline ban, stating: “Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was dismissed at the end of the Merseyside derby for using offensive, insulting, or abusive language. He is handed a two-match touchline ban as a result.”
However, the Premier League have now deleted that line. According to The Athletic, it was a mistake by the league, and the FA are yet to review Oliver’s report and decide what action to take.

The FA will reportedly have three working days to decide whether to charge Slot. As things stand, the Dutchman is not banned from the touchline for Sunday’s game against Wolves.
The Premier League’s statement also addressed Doucoure and Jones’ dismissals, saying: “Abdoulaye Doucoure and Curtis Jones were both sent off for two bookable offences in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool. The pair will each serve one-match bans.
