‘Unrecognisable’ beast making ‘growly scream’ noticed on UK roundabout – however vanishes
Ben Amos, 43, and his daughter Dolcie, 12, were headed out for dinner in Eltham just before 8pm on Sunday (February 9) when they spotted the strange animal from their car window
A dad and his daughter were left baffled after spotting a “bizarre looking” creature on a roundabout in southeast London. Ben Amos, 43, (not the former Manchester United goalkeeper) and his daughter Dolcie, 12, were en route to dinner in Eltham around 8pm on Sunday (February 9) when they noticed the peculiar animal from their car window.
The pair initially thought the creature, which they saw standing on its hind legs at the Well Hall roundabout, was a kangaroo or a wallaby. Ben recalled: “We heard a really weird noise that sounded really close. When we looked over, I saw this animal and at first I thought it was a kangaroo.”
He described the creature as having a long thin tail and either no hair or very short grey hair.
“It is just the weirdest thing I have ever seen. It was completely unrecognisable. The traffic lights went green and red a couple of times and we didn’t move, we were just completely captivated.”
By the time they parked up and went to investigate, the creature had disappeared.
Despite searching in people’s front gardens and driving around for a while, they couldn’t locate the mystery animal again.
Ben joked: “It is probably just an animal escaped from the zoo, but you never know, it could be a baby werewolf!
He also noted that the sound the creature made was very similar to a fox’s call, but much deeper, describing it as a “growly screaming noise”.
