Kyle Walker has claimed that his move to AC Milan has left him to ‘solely concentrate on football’ after leaving his Lauryn Goodman drama behind.
The England international has started afresh in Italy after sealing an exit from Man City during the winter transfer window, amid a drop in form from the full-back.
He has since made four appearances for the Italian giants – two in the league, one in the Coppa Italia and one in the Champions League – as he settles into his new life.
Reflecting on his fresh start, Walker admitted he’s now allowed to ‘solely concentrate’ on his football, away from the antics which caused distraction while at City.
Speaking to GQ, Walker said: ‘I’m not a guy that looks too far ahead. I like to take small steps at a time and that’s just how I’ve done my career.
‘So if you ask me what the game is in three weeks, I wouldn’t know because I concentrate solely on the next game. The first two weeks in Milan have been fantastic.

Mail Sport revealed that Walker stopped Lauryn Goodman (pictured) relocating to Italy ahead of his move to AC Milan by refusing to allow her to rent out her Sussex mansion
‘The fans have been excellent. The food is great. The weather can improve a little bit. It’s not been sunny as yet [laughs] but I’m waiting until March. I’m fully enjoying it.
‘It’s given me a new lease of life where I can just solely concentrate on football and fall back in love with the game.
‘I’m not saying that I fell out of love with the game, but to play in the Premier League against the same players after winning everything, this is something I needed to re-energise the love I have for football’.
Mail Sport revealed last month that Walker stopped Goodman relocating to Italy ahead of his move to AC Milan by refusing to allow her to rent out her Sussex mansion.
The influencer, mother of the defender’s two love children, intended to bankroll her move with the proceeds from a rental agreement, but Walker – who owns the £2.4m property – rejected the proposal.
Goodman, 33, hoped to use the money to rent a place in Milan in order for Kyle, 34, to be close to their two children Kairo, four and 16-month-old daughter Kinara.
But the England defender, via his lawyers, told Goodman renting out her five-bedroom Sussex mansion was a no-go, saying if she did want to move out, the property would have to be sold.
A source said: ‘Kyle just laughed when he heard of Lauryn’s proposal and booted it out straight away.

Kyle’s wife Annie, 33, and their four children – Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and nine-month-old baby Rezon – have joined him in Italy in a bid to save their marriage

Goodman’s constant plans to keep Kyle close have repeatedly backfired, with the sportsman’s move to Italy the latest blow to her plot to be part of his life
‘He’s not going to let her benefit from making several thousand pounds a month by renting out his property and going off to have a great time in Milan or anywhere else for that matter.
‘He’s also made it clear that the mansion can’t be left empty.
‘Lauryn either continues to live in it with the kids or it has to be sold if she’s determined to go abroad with them.’
He held a private leaving party with Manchester City teammates and is keen to get going with the next stage of his career.
The source added: ‘Kyle is looking forward to a fresh start but he’s not going to allow Lauryn to take advantage of him even if he is going to be playing abroad.
‘What she’s proposing is just not on.’

Goodman had previously expressed a desire to move to Dubai when Walker was initially linked with a transfer to the lucrative Saudi league after he told City boss Pep Guardiola of his intentions of moving abroad.
But after agreeing a deal with AC Milan, Lauryn changed tact, telling pals she would follow Kyle ‘anywhere’ in a desperate bid for him to connect with their children, and no doubt deliberately irk his wife Annie Kilner, the mother of his fourth other children.
Meanwhile, friends of Walker and Kilner have revealed that the model entered the San Siro ‘via the back doors’ to watch her husband make his debut for AC Milan at the start of the month.
The right-back, who is on loan to the Italian team from Manchester City, was named in Sérgio Conceição’s starting eleven for their 1-1 draw with arch rivals Inter at the San Siro on Sunday night.
