Super uncommon souped-up Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition goes to public sale with £150k estimate

  • Defender 110 V8 Bond Edition to fetch less than £150k – and is one of 300 made

One of the most memorable moments in No Time to Die – Daniel Craig’s last outing as James Bond – is the car chase across Norway where a series of blacked-out Defenders tear after 007’s Toyota Land Cruiser.

And now Land Rover enthusiasts wanting to have their own scene-stealing vehicle can snap up a specially created Bond-tribute Defender based on those baddie Bond cars and snag themselves cinematic history.

Next month, a 2021 Land Rover Defender 110 V8 Bond Edition will go to auction created by Land Rover SV Bespoke to celebrate the Defender’s role in the 25th James Bond movie.

Originally launched in September 2021, the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition was an exclusive take on the most powerful production Defender ever made – a unique celebration of Land Rover’s 38‑year association with James Bond.

One of 300 examples produced worldwide, this particular 110 is even more sought after because it is just one of 10 models manufactured in right-hand drive for the UK.

It’s estimated to fetch up to £150,000 – almost a steal for a Bond automobile.

Powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged petrol engine which produces 518bhp, the Bond Edition 110 can cover 0 to 60mph in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 149mph.

Bespoke spring and damper rates and new electronic active rear differential are just a couple of ways the 007-inspired Defender’s suspension and transmission tuning provides new levels of performance and driver engagement, while heightened body control is paired with that V8 supercharged soundtrack.

The super-rare collectors’ item is finished in a striking and imposing all-black bodywork, has matching 22-inch alloy wheels and blue brake callipers.

The best feature though is the special ‘Defender 007’ badging; interior Defender 007 treadplates and all-black seating, exterior 007 graphic puddle lights are a few of the secret agent accents you can expect.

And it only has 384 miles on the clock and is being sold directly from its first and only owner, making it practically factory-fresh for the highest bidder.

Inside there’s also an infotainment system fitted with a custom start-up screen to commemorate Land Rover’s long-lasting relations with the Bond franchise.

It’s understood that just 15 examples of the Bond baddie vehicle were delivered to UK dealerships, after customers were carefully selected to place an order. Of those 15 just 10 were 110s, with the other five being the 90 version.

This particular 110 is ‘as new’ as possible with only delivery mileage – making almost surely the lowest mileage example in existence.
