A bargain hunter has been left fuming after unveiling an ‘appalling’ selection of items in his £10 Too Good To Go bag – before marching it back to the shop for an upgrade.
Over recent years, Too Good To Go has become a hit among savvy shoppers in the UK, with restaurants and retailers on the app offering hauls of unsold food at a bargain price in a conscious effort to cut waste.
Thrifty customers often take to social media to show off their treasure trove of cut-price goods, but for one app user, his wager on a £10 supermarket haul hasn’t exactly proven fruitful – and he’s made his feelings very clear on the matter.
Nick Ball, from Bristol, took to TikTok on February 6 to rant about the products included in a Too Good To Go bag he’d recently purchased from Morrisons.
Posting one of several videos to his account, @thebaldtiktoker, the content creator alleged that the £10 loot was said to contain £30 worth of goods – but was left sorely disappointed after unveiling seven seemingly low-cost items.
In the clip – captioned: ‘Do you think this is really worth £30?’ – the disgruntled shopper noted that he had picked up ‘ingredients’ generally used in Morrisons’ Cafe rather than from the supermarket itself.
In a message to viewers, he added, ‘You’re going to be shocked by this bag – watch this,’ before pulling out each item to showcase on his car bonnet.
The dismal haul contained which a cottage pie ready meal, a bag of Crop’s frozen cauliflower gratin, a bag of frozen mash, a trio of cheeses, and a single triple chocolate chip brownie.

In a subsequent video, the riled-up customer marched back to Morrisons to confront bewildered staff over the bag’s contents.
The clip showed a visibly irritated Nick confronting a member of staff at the Café, as he complained: ‘That’s not even a tenner’s worth – you take a look. I reckon you have given me the wrong bag.’
The employee insisted that Nick had received the correct bag, prompting the content creator to escalate his complaint to customer services, as shown in a separate video.
Nick remarked: ‘I’m not happy with that bag, it’s ridiculous. So, we’re going to go to customer services now and complain again. Let’s see what they say.’
The following scene showed an exchange between Nick and a member of staff – who expressed she did not believe the bag is ’30 quid’s worth’ – before the manager was ultimately called to assist in rectifying the issue.
After observing Nick’s slim pickings, the manager took the bag away before returning with an upgraded haul, which contained beef, Yorkshire puddings and an array of undisclosed items.
The videos, which have collectively amassed more than 300K views, have since sparked a discussion among TikTok users.
Defending Nick, one person wrote, ‘Sorry I would take it back as that’s definitely not £30 worth,’ while another said, ‘No way is that 30 pounds.’

A third commented, ‘wouldn’t be happy paying a tenner and getting that,’ while another said, ‘That lot isn’t worth £10 never mind £30. Similar thing happened to me i never ordered again.’
Sharing their own experience of ordering a Too Good To Go bag from Morrisons, one wrote: ‘I got the cafe one after the grocery was bad. Said it should be a few hot meals.
‘They gave me 2 out-of-date cheese n bread [sic]. With 9p stickers. She’s like aw we binned everything else.’
However, others criticised Nick’s reaction to his haul, as one person wrote: ‘You got a cafe bag they base it on the cost they sell the meals at not what it’s worth in the store.’
Another quizzed: ‘That is the lottery of buying these type of bags. Never the same. But what are you expecting to get in it the first place??’
A third wrote: ‘Ahhhh has your dummy dropped out of your cot??? Wind your neck in and get a life.’
