Napoli fans have unveiled a hilarious Scott McTominay banner.

McTominay, 28, has won hearts and minds in Italy, after swapping Manchester United for Napoli over the summer. And the midfielder has even earned comparisons to the legendary Diego Maradona.

And that love has now been immortalised on a cheeky flag from some Napoli fans. The badge has been printed on a Scottish flag – and it reads: “Napoli. McTominay. Pizza. In that order.”

The flag, similar to Gareth Bale’s infamous “Wales, Golf, Madrid” banner, has been hung up in a pizza restaurant in Naples.

Pizza has been a theme of his time on the peninsula – and one restaurant owner took it upon himself to make a special pizza for Napoli’s new hero.

The pizza, that was tomato based topped with buffalo mozzarella, haggis, Italian meatballs, mascarpone sauce and whiskey sauce, was made for McTominay and Billy Gilmour.

“I’ve seen what he’s done for the national team and what he’s done for Manchester United and I said why did they sell him,” the restaurant owner said.

“So when they did and finally we got him the excitement it was almost like, I remember when Maradona signed for Napoli I was a 13/14 year old boy and it was like the best thing ever!

“You knew something special was going to happen and I feel that the two boys together for Napoli they’re going to achieve big things…”

McTominay has been described by football agent Christian Bosco describing him as “potentially one of the best midfielders in Napoli’s history”.

And fans in Southern Italy have already nicknamed him McMaradona due to his goalscoring ability in the No.10 position.
