Viral footballer Tara Mae Kirk has netted her 50th goal for Peterborough.
Kirk, who was dubbed “hotter than the Ibiza sun” by football fans over the summer, made her 79th appearance for Posh women against Northampton Town Women Development in the Northamptonshire County Cup quarter-finals.
The hot-shot striker netted four in a 6-1 win, taking her all-time total to 50 in 79 games. Keir Perkins and Emily Meli also got in on the action as Posh booked their semi-final spot.
One cheeky fan responded to Kirk’s fourth goal with a clip of Rio Ferdinand saying Ballon d’Or no less than six times in ten seconds. While a second said: “50? I saw her picture appear 50 times in a month last season on here surely…”
“The greatest woman footballer ever. Change my mind,” a second said. And another added: “She’d do a better job at United than Garnacho and Hojlund right now…”
Kirk often goes viral on social media, thanks to her goalscoring exploits for Peterborough. The striker, who started her career at Leicester, can’t seem to stop scoring and said about her own game: “I’m quick off the mark.
“I’m quite sneaky inside the box and unpredictable, but my main aim when I’m on the pitch is to find the back of the net.” She had fans joking she should win the Puskas award late last year after one particular strike against Lincoln City.
However, as only a semi-pro footballer Kirk also has a second job and she works in event management – gaining her qualification at Champions UK PLC.
She recently graduated from Loughborough University with a BTEC in business, management, marketing and retailed support services.
